Jen from D.C. wrote this to me earlier today:

i just spent about 45 mins poking around your website when i should have been working…i wish i could just make reading your blog my job. do you offer 401k matching?

It’s comments like hers that have made and continue to make having this blog so fun.1 And its those same comments that make me just as upset at my own posting infrequency. I wish I had both the time and a more interesting life to bring you posts on a more regular basis, but sadly I don’t.

In any case, this post is not to say I’m sorry2 nor to complain about what I can’t do for you. Rather, I’m here to tell you - my loyal and patient readers - what I can do for you here at amishshah.com.

While the details of my life are quite inconsequential3, I do have random things that I’d like to share with you throughout the day. Some of you may already be seeing these as my messages on Google Talk or Facebook - status updates, new batting averages4, quotes, or links from around the Internets…. all things that I think are worthy of sharing with you. Some of you have even referred to these as my “mini-blog,” and I’ve been wanting to incorporate these into my “regular sized blog” for a long time now.

I’ve finally gotten around to doing so figured out a way to do so. I’m pleased to announce that not only have I jumped on the Twitter bandwagon (finally), I’ve also figured out a way to integrate my “tweets” into this blog.5 I’ve added an I’m Twittering… section to the sidebar which will automatically show my latest 10 tweets, giving you something brief to read in between my regular, longer-length posts.

I’ve just started using Twitter, so I’m not really sure how this will all turn out. I can update Twitter from my computer or my phone, so I’m hoping I’ll put it to good use and it’ll be something you all enjoy (for anyone interested, my Twitter page is here). I’m contemplating creating a daily digest of my tweets each day to be posted as an entry on the main blog, so let me know if that’s something you’d like to see (especially those of you reading this through a feed reader).

So there you have it. Along with the You’re Saying (recent comments) and I’m Reading (Google Reader shared items) sections of the sidebar, this is yet another way for me to deliver regular content to you when I can’t regularly post. Because I care about you, readers. I care about what you want.6

2Though I do apologize.

3If I wrote a post about what I did today, these would have been the topics: I’m wearing tighty-whiteys (and not enjoying it) because I was out of boxers this morning, I came home from work and finally did much-needed laundry, Chandler and Monica got a baby and a house in Westchester.

4I’m having a breakout season on my softball season. I can’t stop mentioning this, simply because I generally fall in the ‘mediocre’ to ‘last-to-be-picked’ categories in sports but this summer I’m blowing up. I batted #2 in the lineup yesterday, went 5-for-5 with 2 doubles, 3 singles, 5 runs scored, and 1 RBI, and my average for the season is .472. Who am I?

5Yay Web 2.0! Special thanks to Alex King.

6Now its time you care about what I want. I accept fame, money, or women.

I saw the one where Chandler was handcuffed to Rachel’s boss’ chair. Good stuff.

You didn’t have the same type of numbers when I batted you third in the lineup last week!

That’s cause high-arc softball sucks my ass.

I can vouch for the fact that your life of late has been pretty uneventful (homelessness aside). I mean, we had dinner at Olive Garden the other night — how mundane is that?!
