Spring is here, and with the good weather comes another tradition that seems to die down during the colder months of the year: weekday drinking. After months of long hours at work and/or seasonal depression, I finally break free of the Only-on-Friday-and-Saturday-and-sometimes-Sunday bonds and join my friends after work in celebrating things like life, nature, sports, or Wednesdays.
I got my first taste of this last Thursday, at a going-away gathering for one of my coworkers. The location, PS450, had been selected for its proximity to our office, but as I fought my way in a suit through hundreds of similarly ‘dressed for success’ yuppies packed shoulder to shoulder, I lamented the party planner’s choice of venue.
It was only after sitting down at our table in the back, ordering a beer, and reaching for the food plate that I realized that I was experiencing quite possibly one of the greatest things invented since the wheel or shoes that light up when you walk.
Mac ‘n Cheese. [Carbs & gooey cheese, two of my favorites]
+ Covered in bread crumbs. [Ah, more carbs!]
+ Shaped into cubes. [I love geometry.]
+ Dipped in a deep fryer. [Yes! Now we have grease!]
= Mac & Cheese Poppers
[This heart attack is from joy.]

You need to write more about food, funny social interactions and stupid New Yorkers.
