Nanny nanny boo boo!

Guess what?! I saw snow today!

Since I was visiting a client site in New Jersey today, I got the pleasure of experiencing the first of the snow seen in the New York area, while the rest of my friends spent the day cooped up in their cushy high-rise office buildings in Manhattan.

I got to see the white pureness of slightly frozen water, drifting gently down from the skies, like the things that might fly off a dandelion in the wind (a really big dandelion).

I got to witness the shrieks of delight emitted from children, as they watched the falling snow through the post office window, looking like kids you might see in a postcard, watching snow fall through the window of a post office.

I got to feel the soft weight of the flakes landing on my head, dotting my hair like vanilla sprinkles on a burnt chocolate cupcake. Or like a really bad case of dandruff.

I got to observe the mass of clouds overhead spread a feeling of gloominess over everything, like a Dementor from Azkaban might do when it sucks the soul out of someone that Harry Potter is not in the same room as.

I got to experience the sense of anxiety caused by accelerating too fast, spinning my tires, and almost causing an accident- like when a bartender announces last call, your friend hands you a shot, and you think to yourself “Man, this is the last thing I need right now.”

I got to express my frustration at the slow speed at which other drivers were driving even though I know they were probably right, like when my mom accuses me of gaining some weight and I say “No!” really angrily.

I got to feel the snowflakes melting on my head, ruining my hair the way forgetting to grab Hot Sauce when ordering Taco Bell ‘to go’ ruins a perfectly good meal.

And lastly, I got to hear everyone at the office say “How about that snow?” over and over again, like when Sachin picks a new favorite song and ends up in the same room as an iPod which has that song.

Damn snow.
