First of all, kudos to Kiefer and the gang at Fox for winning 5 Emmys for 24. I actually cheered out loud when the awards were announced.

Also, kudos to Conan and NBC for putting together an awards show that I’m not embarrased to admit had me cheering and laughing out loud. That song & dance number about NBC’s fall from #1 was great (”We got trouble, right here at NBC, with a capital T and that rhymes with G, as in ‘Gee, we’re screwed!’”). Self-deprecation is just too funny.

Man, my blog sucks (”…with a capital S and that rhymes with Yes, as in ‘Yes, I’m an idiot!’”).

Anyway, on the heels of the impressive Emmy showing by the 24 gang, I have just been informed that Kal Penn will star in a recurring role in the next season of 24.

From Yahoo! News (which also gets credit for one of the most ridiculously stupid headlines ever):

He will play a guy who is somehow involved with the Islamic guru running the neighborhood mosque and might be the key to a terrorist plot.

Kal Penn’s gonna be the bad guy?

As much as I love Kal Penn, I can’t wait for the scene where Jack Bauer kicks his ass. That’s going to be awesome.
