I don’t watch American idol. Even though one of my favorite artists is a product of this show, I don’t find it that entertaining. Well, the first few episodes are entertaining….the awfully bad auditions and brutally-honest remarks from the judges are hysterical, but after that I lose all interest.
But given that all of my other TV shows had their season finales already, I decided to tune in on Tuesday to watch the final performances from the A.I. finalists, as well as the last seven minutes of Wednesday’s show to see the winner announced. My thoughts…
| Kathrine “McBoobs” McPhee… Obviously this girl’s got some talent (she made it this far, after all). But I wasn’t that impressed with Tuesday’s performances. It kind of seemed like she had already admitted defeat. That she was just going through the motions to collect that second-place record deal that she’ll inevitably get. I wasn’t completely sold on her as the winner.

| Taylor “The Irony Is I’m Actually A Hick” Hicks… I like this guy. Based on the one show I saw, I thought he had more talent and energy and deserved to win. And I like that he’s not just another cookie-cutter pop star, and instead he’s a graying, goofy-dancing wacko. My only problem with him is that he sometimes looks like he has to drop a 10-pounder when he’s singing. |

So why am I mentioning any of this? Because Kelly Clarkson’s the only real American Idol, and I just wanted to mention that again.

So, I’m a friend of Lev’s, and since Lev doesn’t seem to update his blog (www.levgartman.com) often enough for me, and when he does it overflows with poor grammar and lack of logic, and he moved to Atlanta and I have very little interest in armpits, I’ve taken to reading yours. (note: I never claimed to be logical or write grammatically correctly.)
I’m at work and burst into a loud fit of laughter while reading your Taylor photo caption. Just thought you should know.
Keep writing.
